So sorry about your loss. I was looking at Living Lutheran when I happen to come across the your fathers name.. He was our pastor at Trinity Lutheran ( Chicago). We all wondered about him once and awhile, so Right away I called my 2 sisters and brother to let them know. We all thought he was a great pastor to us. His sermons were very personal and easy to understand. . I was 13 when you came to Trinity ,so I was in Lutheran league and then Young Adults. I met my future husband in Young Adults and he married us in 1964.. I am so happy, that I had a chance to learn and grow, in Christ, with him . I only knew him for only 11 years but I will always remember him. You had one great father. Wish I could be with you on the 4, but I live in Centennial, Co.
Know my prayers are with you.

Our deepest sympathies on your loss. We enjoyed getting to know your father when we lived in Arizona. He had a wonderful sense of humor.

Dear Greg, Karn, Todd, and Lori,
I offer to you my sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved father. He married my two oldest brothers (George Hansen and Neil Hansen) who often spoke about their fond memories in the Luther League. He baptized my youngest sister, Kitty.
I hope to always remember those Sunday Easter celebrations where all of the children would make their Easter donations. At the appointed time in the service, we would be asked to walk to this huge (8 feet by 4 feet?) wooden(?) cross on which we would place our cardboard popup churches that contained all the coins we had saved up during Lent as our donations. It was quite an image of his community supporting one of the wonderful things the church did under his thoughtful leadership.
He was always welcoming and in good spirits and a pleasure to listen to on Sundays.
May he rest in peace.

Jeff Hansen (formerly of Leamington Avenue and Leslie Lewis Elementary School class of 1968).

P.S. Whoever is responsible for his obituary, hats off to you. As a lifelong Cubs fan and dog lover, your words have made me appreciate your father even more. Well done.
