Jeffrey "Jeff" Kyle Tregaskes

Laguna Beach, CA - Jeffrey "Jeff" Kyle Tregaskes, 46, died unexpectedly while ocean swimming in Laguna Beach, CA on August 28, 2020.

Jeff was born in Yuma, Arizona on May 17, 1974. He was the oldest son of Peggy Tregaskes Torres and Fred and Nancy Tregaskes. An entrepreneur, Jeff divided his time between Scottsdale, AZ and Laguna Beach, working in real estate, financial investment and commercial restoration. He attended Chandler schools and Arizona State University.

Family and friends brought Jeff his greatest joys and accomplishments. He loved being with his nieces and nephews and his sweet dog Gracie, participating in sports and all travel. The ocean and mountains were particularly special to him, providing our family peace that Jeff went to heaven doing something he loved in a place he cherished.

In addition to his parents, Jeff is survived by his brothers Gabe (Taira) Tregaskes; Brent (Audrey) Tregaskes: stepsister Dara Torres; 4 nieces and nephews; Gracie; a very large extended family and many friends. Jeff's stepfather, Leonard Torres preceded him in death. He will be greatly missed by those of us lucky enough to love and be loved by Jeff.

A private family gathering with a video and celebration of life planned in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Phoenix Rescue Mission. in Jeff's name.

Jeff you were such an amazing bestie/brother to Michael. You were always there for me always bringing me up and complimenting me like you always said I was an Ecuadorian princess. I will cherish our three years of friendship forever. You were so intelligent, silly, adventurous, caring and so much more. Such a loving dog dad to Gracie girl. We had such great memories all together. Thank you for everything. We love you forever Jeff. Love,

Jeff you were such a wonderful friend to Mike and I. You were always there for us. You were so positive and uplifting. This year has been so tough you were one of the special people in my life who made it the best birthday I’ve ever had. I’ll always remember going paddle boarding with Gracie and Ghost our little fur babies with Michael and Hailey. I’ll also never forget the time we went skydiving with Gabby and Mike. You were always so adventurous and lived life to the fullest. We Love you and will miss you always.

When I think of Jeff I’m reminded of spending time in Budapest with the Tregaskes clan, Jeff was just a delight. I’m so sorry for this incomprehensible loss. You are all in my prayers.

To the Tregaskas family......I have so many memories of growing up with Jeff. I was probably in love with him for at least 10 years of my life :), how could anyone not be- he was so darn handsome :). One of my fondest and best memories is when we were Seniors in high school. We were in French class and I was talking so much (imagine that)- that the French teacher took away my yearbook and told me I would not get it back. After class, Jeff stayed behind and had a meeting with the French teacher and eventually she gave him my yearbook to give back to me. What a great friend! I love you all and O know every day will never be the same without him. He lives forever in all of your hearts.
