Long time friend and enthusiastic playmate...generous, forward thinking and kind...a good man.

I will always be thankful for the opportunities that John Dawson presented to me. Such an amazing man with a heart of gold. 39 years of memories! Both of my children (and their weddings) and now my four grandchildren have experienced the generosity of Mr. Dawson.
You will be missed! Every time the phone rings more than 3 times I will think of you and know that you are watching out for your friends and family!

John and I were friends in high school, where we often double dated, even as far away as Wichita, and were the school's delegates to Boy's State, and we remained in touch for many years after that. I've now lived in the Washington DC area for over 50 years, and though I've met many politicians and other famous people, I don't think I have ever met a more charismatic human being. In John's case, that charisma derived from his genuine interest and concern for others and his heartfelt appreciation of the joy of being alive. John was a joy to be with because he, himself, derived joy from every person he met and everything he did. His life was too short, but it was packed to the brim. He was larger then life, and life is smaller without him. Charlie Buffon
