To the Knaphus family I send my love and condolences. Your parents (Andy and Margret) were wonderful friends with my parents and I remember them well from the 19th ward in Phoenix. They always had a smile and were great examples for the youths in our ward.

To the Family of Margret Oliphant Knaphus from Burt Hiatt Oliphant, her brother, and his wife Peggy Smith Oliphant.

We want their children and Grand Children, to know what a wonderful legacy your mother, Margret Oliphant Knaphus, and your father, Andrew C. Knaphus has left you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our association over many years with your mother, and your father, Andrew C. Knaphus. We could tell you some interesting stories about them, but we want you to know, how very special they were to us.

How the Lord Loved them, and how great a legacy they have given you. Cherish them, pray that you may be included in their family circle in the day of judgement.

After marrying Dixie Homer, a Mormon, in Dec. '69 I attended both St. John Lutheran Church in Glendale and the LDS 19th Ward for almost 20 years until I finally got baptized in Dec.. 1990. During that time Aunt Margret and Uncle Andy became my 3rd set of full-time missionaries, and Uncle Andy took me to 19th Ward and introduced me to priesthood meetings. When I finally got baptized Aunt Margret and Uncle Andy were in Guatemala serving another mission! Aunt Margret's ever-loving, ever-smiling, proactive encouragement of my struggle to decide whether to join the LDS church and break my ties with St. John Lutheran made my decision easier, and since then my brain and my heart continue to thank her.
