Hanson, Barbara McAndrew
81 of of Sun City West and Avon, CT, passed away on October 4, 2017. She was born on November 18, 1935, in Bronxville, NY; daughter of the late Walter Thomas and Frances (Vollmer) McAndrew. She was a devout Catholic who was involved in Hospital, Hospice and Prison Ministries. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Julia Shannon of St. Augustine, FL, Fran Donohue (and Glen) of Mahopac, NY, Mary Greggains (and Nick) of Simsbury, CT, and Terri Moran (and Tim) of Holliston, MA; seven grandchildren, Tim Guilbeault, Bobby Bianconi, Amanda Bianconi, Jack Moran, Lia Moran, Sophie Greggains, and Matthew Greggains; two great grandchildren, Joshua and Claire Guilbealt. She was predeceased by her siblings, Frances McAndrew Renton, Jean McAndrew Larkin, and Walter Thomas McAndrew. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 942 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The Vincent Funeral Home of Simsbury, CT is caring for the arrangements. Memorial donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
