Richard, Carol E.
Carol E. Richard, 86, passed away Friday, September 29. She was a Phoenix native and the retired owner of Marjon Ceramics, Inc. She was also an artist who considered her greatest work of art her family. Carol's activity in numerous professional groups including Arizona Business Association, International Association of Duncan Certified Ceramic Teachers and National Speaker's Association helped to ensure the success of Marjon for future generations. Carol retained an active role on the Board of Directors in this wonderful business that her parents started in 1952. Marjon is a legacy that she was very proud of. Carol was the matriarch of her family. She was more than a Mom she was a true friend. She is survived by her, children Eileen Shepherd, Elaine Herbert, Stephen Hieb (Shirley), Leslie Welson (Rick), Dawn Hudson (Sam); grandchildren: David (Celina), Jonathan (Rachel), and Matthew (Anita) Shepherd, Shannan (Dean) Vickery, Joseph Speissegger, Taylor Welson, Liz (Mark) Haley, Katherine and Caroline Hudson; great grandchildren: Jonathan Shepherd, Jr., Caeley Shepherd, Skylar and Isaac Rodriguez, Britanie and Christopher Vickery. All who had the pleasure of knowing Carol will forever remember her positive outlook on life, incredible sense of humor and radiant joy that filled the room with happiness and laughter. Carol will be forever "Klassy". In respect of Carol's wishes there will not be a service. Plans are pending for a celebration of Carol's beautiful life on October 14th. Please watch your email for details. To honor Carol's memory the family suggests a donation to one of the charities she supported. Unity – Daily Word, Disabled American Veterans, and American Red Cross.

We are so sorry for your loss. Carol was a lovely lady and dear friend ever since we met when she taught Darlene in art class up at the POA office in Dewey. Also, fond memories of Mexican night which we celebrated all our birthdays. We are saddened to hear of her passing. May God be with you and provide you with comfort during these difficult times.
