We loved to sit in front of Blanche at church because we could listen to her marvelous voice. Looked forward to her smile and hugs. Sending our thoughts and prayers to your family.
Sincerely,
Joe & Sandy Spracale

Blanche was the soprano soloist at Central United Methodist when I joined the choir in 1958. We remained friends all these years-always remembering each other's birthdays. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Heartfelt condolences to the Smathers family. I hope you find consolation from the promise at 1 Thessalonians 4:14. May the God of comfort give you peace that surpasses all understanding during this difficult time.

What a beautiful, delightful person Blanche was! She and my Mom, Margaret Schulke were best friends from an early age when they took singing lessons together downtown. Blanche would make frequent trips way out to our farm near Cashion. She became part of the family and was always so much fun to be around. My Mom will miss their Friday phone calls and I know they will be together again one day. Thoughts and prayers are with her family.
