Alix Ann Callan (née) Luciano passed away peacefully at home with her immediate family on March 23,2021, at the age of 68, after a short illness. She is survived by her husband, David J. Callan, after 47 years of marriage. The devoted mother of David P. Callan (Amy), Anthony J. Callan (Vikki), and grandchildren Elizabeth and Anthony Callan (Anthony and Vikki), and Cassidy and Brooke (David and Amy). Alix Ann was a talented singer and earned the Baltimore City Western High School's 1969 cooperative study opportunity at Peabody Institute. Alix Ann earned her RN at Union Memorial Nursing School while her children were young. Her classmates elected her Class President in 1982 and bestowed an even more coveted superlative - "Super Mom." She worked in Baltimore City and later in Harford County after the family moved in 1985. After many years Alix Ann retired from clinical nursing to become a School Nurse in Harford County where she loved caring for the students. In addition, she volunteered by reading to children within the Harford County Public Library program. Alix Ann was known to many as a charismatic, empathic, and generous person who loved with all her heart. A memorial service is being planned later this summer (TBD).

AlixAnn and I were neighbors and friends back in late 60's thru mid 70's. She was a little bit older than I but she treated me with the same kindness and warmth as her older friends. She was an older sister I didn't have. I understand her classmates giving her the title "Super Mom" because she was always looking out for her friends. Alix was even gracious enough to sing at my wedding in 1975.
My heartfelt symptoms to her husband Dave, her sons David and Anthony and the entire Callan family.
