Charles H. Mack, age 93, of Glen Arm, Maryland passed away on February 20, 2021 at Glen Meadows Retirement Community in Glen Arm, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Harry Mack and Margaret (Gunther) Fisher and husband of 70 years to Mary Catherine Mack. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a firefighter in Baltimore City for 28 years, on Truck 26. Charles was an excellent athlete, having played basketball for the University of Maryland, and was on many baseball teams, to include the US Navy. Not only was he an avid golfer, but he was a founding member of the Winter's Run Golf and Country Club. He was also drafted by the Boston Braves to play baseball but chose not to play because he met his future wife Mary, and was afraid she wouldn't wait for him.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his two sons, Stephen (Jackie) Mack and Jeffrey (Christine) Mack; daughter, Stacey (Hayes) Smith; grandchildren, Kendall, Rachel, Stephanie, Emily, and Sarah; and great grandchildren, Madison, Matthew, Molly, Brooks, Perry, and Marlo.
Visitation will be held under the caring guidance of the family owned and operated McComas Funeral Home, Bel Air, Maryland on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 10-11 am followed by a service at 11 am. Interment will take place in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
