On April 26, 2015, Edward William Gayhardt passed away. He was the beloved husband of Joanne C. Gayhardt (nee Gibowicz); devoted father of Mark E. Gayhardt and his wife Peggy, Renee F. Gayhardt and her husband Chuck, and Robert M. Gayhardt and his wife Ceil; loving grandfather of Kasey Judy, and Brett, Kelly, and Kim Gayhardt; dear brother of William Gayhardt. Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc. 9705 Belair Rd., Nottingham, MD 21236, on Wednesday 3-5 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church (Fullerton, MD). Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Edward's name to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Online tributes may be left for the family at

I am very sorry for your loss. Please except my condolences. Losing a loved one is death is very difficult but relying on the almighty God will help you get through it. Draw comfort from God's word the bible and throw all your burdens on him through prayer.

Please accept my condolences in the loss of your Husband, Dad,& Grandfather. I didn't know Mr. Gayhardt but have heard stories of what a knowledgeable,kind, loving man he was. For now, my thoughts, prayers,& heartfelt sympathy are with you & your family.
