Jack Leslie Etter Sr (96), of Jarrettsville, Maryland. Devoted father of Neil (wife Olga) and Leslie, and survived by two grandchildren, Eva Sofia Etter and Alexander Holland Etter. Born in Franklin County Pennsylvania and raised in Hagerstown Maryland. He was son to Naomi (Pogue) Etter (12.11.1890 - 9.23.1941) and Ralph Etter (8.5.1889 - 7.22.1969), step son to Luetta (Keeseman) Etter Martin (2.4.1917 - 7.29.1996).
He was preceded in death by son, Jack L. Etter Jr. (11.3.1954 – 6.8.2011) two sisters, Armatha Etter (8.21.1917 - 7.4.1936), Alma Amos (8.11.1920 - 6.9.2008), three brothers, Ralph Etter (12..12.1912 - 12.20.1967), Ellsworth Etter (12.25.1913 - 5.21.1975), Eugene Etter (9.17.1915 - 7.12.1976), and two half-brothers Roy Etter (8.25.1944 - 3.9.2002) and Larry Etter (5.17.1951 - 12.11.1986).
He along with Ralph, Gene, and Ellic all served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served in many veterans organizations including serving five terms as Commander of American Legion Parkton Post 256. He also served 60 years of Freemasonry including Scottish Rite and Shriners International.
Jack was an honorary father to all of those who knew him as Dad.
