Father Bauer was my best friend. He need not be idealized or enlarged in death. he will always be remembered as a good and descent man. He was a great Priest.
He saw wrong and tried to right it. Suffering and tried to heal it and injustices and tried to stop it.
He would often say "Gold and Silver I have none..."
What Father Bauer had he gave abundantly- his time, his talent and his faith.
I will be forever grateful.

A tremendous person who was a man of dignity and respect. Privileged to have him as a friend . All of us who knew him are better for having had the opportunity to share time with him. A man of humility and a life of service to others . We lost a special one and God has him for all of eternity . Thank you Father Bauer for everything.

Fr. John you have been my uncle for 70 years. I already miss you, and I know this is just going to get harder. I have always been close to you. Tell my parents, son, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and my friends hello and I miss them. You earned your place in heaven, and I know that is not easy. I love you, and I will miss you very much. your niece, Kathleen
