Judith Langan Obituary

Judi was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where as a child she loved visiting her grandparents' farm over the summers and spoke fondly of exploring the grounds and enjoying homemade bread with fresh churned butter. The family later moved to Southern California where she attended Arcadia High School and then attended Pasadena City College where she studied business.

Judi had a love of modern dance and was in plays during her school years, and it was at Pasadena City College where she met her husband, Pete Langan. The two married in San Gabriel, California, and soon after, their two daughters, Stacy Lynn and Julie Ann joined the family living in Duarte, California, where Judi volunteered as a school nurse at Valley View Elementary School and worked on weekend catering events with Pete.

The family transferred to Alabama and then moved to Arizona where she accepted a position with a private investigative firm and then later worked with the IRS. Mingled in with these positions, she created beautiful porcelain floral gift baskets and sold them at local art shows before she and Pete ventured into building a home themselves in Colorado. Their most beloved home of all though, was in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

It was there that Judi took up yoga, discovered her talent for painting, loved taking morning walks in Village Green, played golf with her friends at Twin Lakes Ladies Golf Club and both she and Pete enjoyed hosting annual summer get-togethers with their dear friends. Judi's kindness, warm heart, beautiful smile, true friendship and keen sense of humor became her hallmarks, brightening lives everywhere she went and she was a genuine gift to all who knew her.

"We love her dearly and she will remain forever in our hearts."

Judi is survived by her husband, Pete Langan; her daughter, Stacy Meisterheim and partner Sean Gregg; daughter Julie Burke and son Nicholas; her son, Jeffery Dickman and wife Ann; her sisters, Susan James and husband Garry James, Bonnie Henry and partner Ed Donahue.

Judi was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lorraine Quarness.

Judi was our neighbor for many years and we loved her very much. She was the most dedicated walker in our neighborhood and we always marveled at that. We are honored to have several of her paintings in our home that she gifted to us. We will miss her very much.

Judi's favorite memories are of the Quarness family farm 300 miles north of Minneapolis in Minnesota. We spent many summers there with Grandmother and family, exploring the big clapboard house, the granary where they stored the grain, the forest and the barn.
One particular memory stands out where Grandmother Matilda would bake bread for the family and for Judi and me give us each a small loaf in a 3"x6" tin to take outside and play in the farm paradise.
Judi will be missed by all who knew her because of her extra ordinary ability to care for others first in her life.
I am so honored to have been her loving sister and so happy we were able to share our lives by telephone particularly in our later years.
Her loving sister, Susan
