Marcilene Hampton Obituary
Marcilene "Marcie" Hampton, a beacon of love, kindness and thoughtfulness, passed away on June 30, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas at the Riverside Memory Care Center after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Her vivacious spirit was born into this world on Nov. 20, 1936, in Woodsboro, Texas, and her warmth and radiance touched countless lives throughout her 88 years. Although Marcie was born in Woodsboro, she identified her childhood home as Hico, Texas.
Marcie's life was a testament to her belief in unconditional generosity, and her enduring legacy is founded upon the meaningful difference she made in the lives of those around her. It filled with purpose and accomplishment, weaving a colorful tapestry of love, service and dedication.
Her contributions were significant and enduring, from her invaluable work at the family restaurant, The Log, in West Atlantic City, New Jersey, to the joy she found at Weist Barron Studio in Atlantic Studio, where she acted in commercials and offered her nurturing support to aspiring actors during the 1980s.
At the heart of Marcy's life was her unwavering dedication to her family. She was a beloved wife, having shared over 63 years of marriage with her husband, Lawrence Hampton Jr., before his passing.
This cherished union was marked by dedicated support and shared journeys, as they made homes and memories in Northfield and Linwood, New Jersey, Irving, Texas, and Mountain Home, Arkansas, as well as traveling in their retirement years throughout the United States, one of Marcy's favorite marriage memories.
Marcie's love extended to her surviving children, Donna Bredeck from Turnersville, New Jersey, Michael Hampton of Somers Point, New Jersey, and Steve Hampton of Fort Worth, Texas, with whom she shared many outings at the Margate Beach in New Jersey. Through her children Marcie is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout the United States.
Marcie's legacy of service also extended far beyond her personal and professional life. For many years, she served tirelessly as a volunteer at the Diabetes Clinic at Baxter Regional Medical Center. In Mountain Home, her faith was a driving force in her life, and she was a dedicated volunteer at her local church. In these roles, she exemplified the profound impact of selfless giving and left a lasting impression on her community.
"As we mourn the loss of Marcilene "Marcie" Hampton, her life stands as a testament to the power of hard work, service to others and love. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. While she will be dearly missed, her spirit will live on in every life she touched."
