Gillis, Suzanne Bay City, Michigan Suzanne passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 at McLaren Bay Region, age 77. She was born January 20, 1943 in Bay City to the late Russell and Eileen (Gillen) Hadd. Suzanne married Ronald J. Gillis on December 3, 1983 and he survives her. She worked for Prestolite for 12 years and then attended Great Lakes Community College, where she obtained her Medical Transcriptionist education. Suzanne then went to work for a couple local physicians before getting hired at Bay Medical Center, retiring after 12 years of dedicated and loyal service to the hospital. Suzanne was a devoted member of Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary's Church in Bay City. She taught religious education at St. Stanislaus Church for a few years. She loved to crochet and made the most beautiful baptismal gowns for church. Suzanne enjoyed taking trips to various casinos in upper Michigan and always looked forward to the time spent with her family around Christmas where they came together and made the best tamales. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Ronald, six children: Ronald (Sheryl) Gomez, Sheila (Brian) Schwartz, Eileen Davies, David Gomez, Patrick Gomez and Brian Gomez, 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one due this month, two sisters, Diane (Thomas) Zielinski and Maureen (Duane) Henning and two brothers, Timothy and Terry Hadd. Suzanne was predeceased by one grandson David Gomez Jr., two sisters, Eileen and Colleen and three brothers: Dennis, Fred and Mike. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary's Church, 607 E. South Union Street, Bay City, MI 48706. Fr. Patrick O'Connor will celebrate Mass and private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may at the church only on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. No visitation will be held at Squires Funeral Home. Due to the current Social Distancing and Face Covering guidelines in place at church, there may be a wait outside for those attending the Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the food pantry at Our Lady of Peace Parish.

So sad to hear of this. Prayers for the families. Suzanne was a very nice lady. I had the pleasure of working with her at Prestolite . God has a plan for all of us.

Sue you were the best sister anyone could ask for. I love you, and i'll forever miss you. You tried to prepare me for this but i never could imagine the way i feel. We talked daily, i knew your secrets and you knew mine. My life is changed forever until we meet again may God hold you in His arms, ill forever hold you in my heart.God Bless You Diane
