DEWEY OWEN FOSTER
Dewey Owen Foster, loved husband, Father, grandfather and uncle, age 95, of Atlantic Beach, Fl, passed away on April 29, 2021.
We all know that death and taxes are inevitable, but when you lose your 95 year old father and friends its still a shock. He was one of the last of the "Greatest Generation". Leaving Oklahoma and joining the Navy at seventeen, he survived two kamikaze attacks while serving on the aircraft carrier USS Manilla Bay. After the war he followed his dream of flying planes and had a long successful career in aviation. He was happily married to our mother, Bernice, for over 71 years who passed away last year.
The family wished to thank Community Hospice Centers at Acosta-Rue and St. Vincent's South for their wonderful care of Dad.
Dewey was the seventh of eight children born to Ira and Ethel Foster in Colony, Ok. He leaves behind two sons, Mike (Joan), Tom (Lynn) and four grandsons, Kirk, Steve, James and John. He will be missed for his love of family and the many stories he told and his sense of humor.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
