Dear John & Sheila - We only heard of Sydney's passing the other day. Kati and I were in such disbelief that it has taken us a few days to actually accept this news.

We remember Sydney so vividly - a precious little girl with a spectacular smile and infectious giggle. She was a wonderful friend to my daughter during their early days at St. Edwards.

Clearly Sydney grew to be a very fine young women who was well loved.

God bless and keep you both.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Williams,

When Janice LeCesne, a very dear friend of mine, told me of Sydney's passing, my heart went out to her and the family. Words cannot heal the pain of losing someone so dear. May God give you the strength to overcome the pain. Please know how much you are loved and how deeply your loss is felt by all.

Dear John and Sheila,
I met Sydney when she was only 3 months old. At that time a very special bond was formed. Just watching her daily made her become a big part of my life. I can't even imagine the hurt and sorrow that you must be feeling. I can say to you that a part of me has been lost. I pray that our dear Lord intercedes for you both to make you feel content and at peace. I know that a person cannot every be prepared for the loss of a loved one, especially your child. I Love You John and Sheila with my whole heart and soul. I want you to know that I will always be here for you now and forever more. I feel and will always feel that Sydney was my granddaughter.
Love you,
Lorene Keys

John and Sheila,
It has been a few days since we lost the physical presence of Sydney but the wonderful support shown to you and the rest of the family indicates that Sydney will be in the minds and hearts of all who knew her forever. There are not many things we as humans can say for sure about the future, but I do know that God will comfort you and all who loved Sydney during this time of sorrow and transition. We and many others are here for you to lean on as you move forward with your lives. We love you and will be here for you.

Dear Williams Family,

The Texas A&M NAACP chapter would like to invite you to our Pre-Silver Taps Honorary Ceremony that we will be hosting in honor of our fellow Aggie as well as our NAACP family member Sydney Nicole Williams on April 6, 2010 at 8:30pm. The Honorary Ceremony will be before Silver Taps to celebrate her life and her great Involvement with the Texas A & M Chapter of the NAACP. We would love for her family to be present to receive the gifts that our organization has to give. This event has been well planned out and we will walk over to the silver TAP ceremony right after the program. If you do not know what silver taps is:

Silver Taps: is held for a graduate or undergraduate student who passes away while enrolled at A&M. This final tribute is held the first Tuesday of the month when a student has passed away the previous month. On the day of Silver Taps, a small card with the deceased students name, class, major, and date of birth is placed as a notice at the base of the academic flagpole, in addition to the memorial located behind the flagpole. Around 10:15 that night, the lights are extinguished and hymns chime from Albritton Tower.

Candace Manns

We would love for Sydney’s family to be present at this event so please contact: Candace Manns(979) 209-4486 if you have any questions.

John and Shelia,
I pray God's blessing of comfort and peace in your lives as you attempt to get back to a "normal" routine after such a tragic loss. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of Sydney. On today, I am remembering the many Easter baskets she prepared for Cyn as one act of her unselfish and giving heart. We loved her, but God loved her best!!!! I love you both and am always here for you. Sydney lives on in our hearts!!!!!!!!!
