Patsy Claytor Obituary

Patsy Key Claytor, 77, of Bedford, died on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Bedford Co. on November 18, 1941. The daughter of the late Willie Austin Key and Callie Croft Key. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her children's father, Thomas Alfred Claytor; brothers, John Key, Willie Austin Key, Jr., Thomas Earl Key, James Kenneth 'Tenny' Key and Harry Clark Key; sisters, Willie Merle Fink, Marion Nadine Creasy, Myrtle Mae Toms and Mildred Crawford. Patsy spent her life doing for others. She loved the outdoors, enjoying all of God's creations. Most of all she loved the Lord. She enjoyed her home and her doors were always open to everyone. She also enjoyed reading and her writing along with her gospel music. Patsy is survived by her loving children all of Bedford. Daughters, Brenda Lesa Claytor and Tracie Claytor Gordon and her husband, Billy; son, Tony Alan Claytor; darling grandson, Alan Thomas Claytor and her special little friend, 'Sassy'; Brothers, Robert E. 'Bobby' Key and wife, Kaye, Bernard C. 'Bunny' Key and wife, Ruby, Jerry Lee 'Bobo' Key and wife, Gloria all of Bedford; Sisters, Helen Arrington, Marynell Key of Bedford, Judy Dickerson and husband, 'Booster of Goode. Also survived are a multitude of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. The family would like to thank all of Patsy's caregivers Patt Overstreet, Phyllis Dellis, Debbie Nance and Linda Mayhew for your love and care during this most difficult of times. We greatly appreciate each of you. A funeral service and celebration of Patsy's life was conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Tharp Funeral Chapel in Bedford with Rev. Mark Wilkerson officiating. Burial followed in Suck Spring Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends for fellowship and a meal following the burial back at the church fellowship hall. For anyone wishing to bring food to the family please consider bringing it on the day of the service to the church.
