Delores Babcock
Delores "Dee" Babcock, 84, of Collinsville, IL (whose life was a work of art), sketched a new landscape and stepped into it on Sunday, September 9, 2018.
Dee was an artist all of her life and made her living at Caterpillar Tractor Company as the only staff artist and photographer. She was interested in life and was accomplished at everything she set her hand to. Including, but not limited to; painting, sculpting, jewelry making, stained glass art, automobile mechanics, and carpentry. She was a ballroom dancer, bowling team captain, rock hound and photographer as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Olive Olene (nee Stinson) Johnson; and her husband, James T. Babcock, whom she married on July 24, 1955.
She is survived by two daughters, Teresa (Kathy) Babcock, and Brenda (Kevin) Hubble, both of Collinsville, IL.
Memorial donations may be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis, MO and will be accepted at the funeral home. Condolences barrywilsonfuneralhome.com.
Services: Memorial visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL, followed by a 2 p.m. memorial service officiated by Rev. Cindy Middendorf.
