I only had Mr. Kiel for one class, in 1982, for a subject I hated more than any other. But I never dreaded going to that class because his approach rose above the subject. I remember like it was yesterday, that crooked little smile and twinkle in his eye when he'd tell me how wrong my answer was (something he got to do often!). I remember him as fair and gentle man, and I was glad to have him as the final math teacher of my high school career.

One of the finest and most giving neighbors we've ever had.

I have many fond memories from the 4-H club led by Boyd and Ellen in the late fifties. They were truly inspirational, kind, bright and humorous leaders and I feel lucky to have benefited from their guidance in my early years. My condolences to Ellen, Nancy and Vic and all of the grandchildren. With best wishes, Beverly Benson Vifian

I extend our deepest sympathy to the Kiel Family. For the past three years, Boyd and his wife Ellen served as Secretary and Treasurer on Old Town Christian Ministries - Amy's Place Board of Directors. This amazing couple married for 66 years had the compassion and gifted abilities to inspire us all. Besides going above and beyond the duties of Treasurer and Secretary, they would pray for our youth and for me. They took a great interest in who we are and what we needed and diligently came up with ideas that could help us. I am at a great loss, I lost my friend Boyd. I know he is happy in heaven and out of his pain and discomfort, but my goodness, it is a bumper for those left behind. Please pray for Ellen and his family as they adjust to this great loss.
I Love you Ellen,
Heidi

One of the best math teachers ever! He knew how to teach so you understood the problem. To bad there are not that many teachers now a days that care. God bless you and your family. Class of 1988
