The first time I met Carl was when I traveled 3,000 miles to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage some 17 years ago. I am honored to have known him over the years and I have many great memories of our laughs together. I will miss him, and I sincerely wish we could have had more time. I will just have to look forward to when we meet again in God's Kingdom.

We did not know Carl but we do know John and his family and they are a great tribute to him. As I read through the comments I can really see Carl in his family.

Hi Carl!

Well I made a comment a few days ago and want to add to it! I appreciate so much how attentive and loving you and Kiko were to our Mom all the years she was in the nursing home. The number of trips you made to see her and stop by and see Jean were incredible and I don't know that I ever thanked you. I hope you know how important and caring that was.

I will surely miss your spirit and conviction for those things important to you, and our spirited conversations about the same.

Not everyone has the privilege of having a big brother, I did, even though you wanted to head to the woods when I was born . I will miss you and find comfort in the place you had on my life. And I truly am grateful that you are again with Kiko, she was such a friend and I loved her as I do you.

Rest in peace and in time we will all again be with all our family! Your sister........ah, that's your younger sister! :)

To, my father in law, and my best friend. I miss our long phone calls, our DQ runs that no one knew about (it was always fun to see your eyes light up when we got our soft ice-cream) meeting at star bucks even though you hated their coffee,, but tolerating it because it was my favorite:) I love and miss you... Love your daughter in law... Chrissy

Grandpa, you were the amazing and you will forever be in my heart. The daily visits to you, more recently were some of the best things I've ever done. Even if it was cleaning up after you, you still were one of the best men I knew, and ever will. Thank you for everything you taught me about life and how to live. I couldn't ever thank you enough for it all, and I'm glad and honored that I could have the time I had with you. Thank you, Grandpa. You will, be forever in my heart and the hearts of those whom you touched... No matter what, forever. I love you, Grandpa.

When those we love have left this earth, we still can feel them near. We'll see a picture, hear a song, and it's just like they are here. And when we call upon our faith, when we believe and trust, we know the ones we care about are always close to us.

My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart,
and my portion for ever.

Psalm 73:26

My most beloved Uncle,
I want to let you know how much you touched so many of our lives, my dear Uncle Carl; when you would have that smile on your face and your eyes would dance. When you laughed or would be quiet to listen to what was happening around you, like your father. We know that your heart has been about giving those big hugs. Know that we will miss you greatly and one day we all get to see that smile again. Be greatly blessed where you are and I'm looking forward to the time when I ge another hug from you.

Dad, Thank you for all the things that you taught and passed on to me over the years. Those beliefs, love, and skills will be passed on to my children and will be your greatest legacy. I am sure going to miss having those talks we had, fishing together, and just enjoying life together. I will always love you. You are in my heart forever. Be sure and give Mom that big hug she deserves, I look forward to the day that I will see you again.
