I wondered why I never received a response from Diane after I sent her my annual Christmas letter last December (2013). I finally Googled her name and just read Diane's obituary today (11/18/2014). What a shock! I thought she'd live a much longer life because she was health conscious. Diane used to live next door to me in the Wedgwood neighborhood of Seattle. She wrote a health newsletter called "Thumper" about organic foods before such things became popular. Diane and her mother eventually moved to Edmonds and built a new house alongside a smaller one. Eventually, Diane moved to Bellingham. We continued to exchange photos of our beloved cats and dogs over the years, and caught-up every December. I still have her grandmother's handmade quilt. Diane hung little angel ornaments (I gave her) on her Xmas tree every year, and she displayed the beautiful touquoise/gold tea cup/saucer set I gave her after my first Siberian Husky nipped her finger when Diane gave him a piece of cheese. I'll miss my friend.

We will surely miss seeing you Diane. When I start feeling sad again I think of seeing you with your beloved Boarder Collie Jeanie on your power walks, then your beloved William that you rescued from Porto Rico, riding shot gun in the front seat as you two ran your errands in your little car, he always sat facing you and looking at you adoringly. It always warmed my heart and makes me smile even today. I know that you never believed there was anything after death, but the last year questioned that belief, I hope that you found you were wrong to believe that and you are with your loved ones & all of your beloved pets that shared their life with you all too briefly. God speed Diane, you will not be forgotten.

I know diane is now in a better place with all her wonderful pets that precided her in life. I know she has already found jenny her boader collie that she lost a few years back that she loved so very much. diane was a very bright person with a intence mind for detail. I wish I had one more time to see her before she left this world, I will miss her.
