Dr George Waters 1946 - 2019 An unforgettable character I speak on my behalf, but many of my words, my thoughts and my feelings I am sure are being shared by many as we handle his sudden departure and remember his life. George, a marvellous brother, a best friend, an optimist extraordinaire, a dynamo, a man of family, a very accommodating 24/7 family medical consultant, full of wonderful humour. He was Labrador friendly to all, a witty chatterer, a versatile eloquent conversationalist to the general public at large, and to all he met - be it formally or informally. He was always comfortable in the company of people across the full spectrum of life, often provider of entertaining fun to those in his presence, a story teller, a real bon vivant, a perfectionist on many fronts, a highly intelligent thinking man. Always extremely vibrant , a coffee fanatic and gourmet, a befriender of all he met. George was an exceptional community volunteer and contributor, a Rotarian, a leader, a manager, an ambassador, a studious person, a doctor, an anaesthetist, an excellent performer, a renovator, a reader, a gardener, a car enthusiast, a man incredibly full of perpetual energy, a doer, a motivator,...... he was all this and so much more.....just so inspirational and it's been an absolutely delightful pleasure to have had the fortune for George to be part of my life. George brought an unforgettable magic. He was a real treasure. His friendship, his wit, his caring, his love for all, his wisdom, his humanity, his intellect, his humour, his counsel , his quirkiness, his diverse skills, all summed up as ' George's uniqueness ' which will be seriously missed. He was loved deeply and I will be forever thankful for the way he blessed my life with all his attributes. He lived life to the fullest and enriched many in various forms along the way during his good innings. 'Carpe diem' is highly applicable! He has left me with countless wonderful memories full of support, joy, fun, laughter and happiness. There will be numerous times ahead when I will wish he was still about with his words flowing like captivating music to my ears. He may have gone physically, (C'est la vie), but spiritually, he will be with me forever and a day! George, thank you very very very very very much ( as he would say!). Muchos gracias! Long will you be remembered. Brendan Waters, Brother and best friend.
