Harold (Hub) Wade McClendon, 71, of Paron, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born March 10, 1946, in Paron, to R.C. McClendon and Lavern Keeton McClendon. He was retired from the Benton Fire Department, but also worked for several heavy equipment construction companies through the years because working in the dirt was always his first love.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents Virgil and Pheobe Finley Keeton.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carylon Lea Sullivan McClendon; two sons, Phillip McClendon (Debbie), of Haskell and Clifford McClendon, of Paron; grandchildren, Dawntrina McClendon Mullins, Destini McClendon (John Scates), and Zachary McClendon (Katie), all of Paron, along with their mother Stephanie McClendon, of Missouri, and Michael White, of Colorado, and Bailey Baker, of Haskell; great-grandchildren, Cora Mullins, LJ Scates, Joey Scates, AJ McClendon and Sadie McClendon, all of Paron; a brother, Donnie McClendon (Dottie), of Benton; sisters Pat Wright (Sam), of Benton, Shelia Gail Turner (Don), of Drasco, Normalene Cobb (G.T.), of Fordyce; and a number of family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Serving as Pall Bearers will be Shawn Turner, Dillon Turner, Zachary McClendon, John Scates, Brian Mullins and Jeremy Holiman.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 22, 2017, at Amazing Grace Church (formerly Unity Baptist Church) in Paron.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at Fowler Cemetery in Paron.
Services will be officiated by Cecil Hyde.
