I met Ms. Annie Mae through my Father-in-law, Earl Beavers. They were great friends and for several years he drove her to church services each Sunday. She was so gracious to give our family tickets to an Alabama game each year. After Mr. Beavers passed away a couple of years ago, Ms. Annie Mae called me and wanted to continue giving us tickets. I went by to visit her with my daughter and had the privilege of learning about her life story. When we were leaving, I asked Ms. Annie Mae if there was anything she needed or that I could get for her. She told me she did not need a single thing. I asked her if she would like an Alabama wreath for her door as that seemed to be the only Alabama themed article she did not already possess!! She said that would be wonderful. A few weeks later, we returned with the University of Alabama door wreath complete with houndstooth ribbon. Ms. Annie Mae was so excited. We enjoyed our visits and the occasional slice of Starbucks Lemon Pound Cake. We enjoyed talking Alabama football and sharing fond memories. I find it quite fitting that Ms. Annie Mae will be laid to rest on a Saturday that the Iron Bowl is played. We love you and will miss you. Roll Tide! Mike, Carla and Sidnee Beavers

Doug, Deb and family, I was so sorry to hear of Annie Maes death. She was so full of life and was always an inspiring woman who was definitely a pioneer for women in professional careers. She was always proud of her family. I am sure she will be yelling Roll Tide in heaven. Prayers for all of you.

Ms Brackin was my first boss when I started at Southern Bell in 1964 and was a wonderful mentor to me. I learned a lot from her and wish I had kept in touch.

She was my first boss when I went to work at Southern Bell in 1964. She took me under her wing and was a great mentor to me. Wish I has kept in touch. She was very special.
