Dr. Kidd was our first vet. We were fortunate to get a sweet little Yorkie, and Dr. Kidd took such good care of her. We will miss his kindness and the tender loving care that he provided. May he rest in peace.

Mandy, we were stunned and heartbroken to hear the news of Mark's death. After more than 30 years of his dedicated care of our various pets, he had become a friend as well as a trusted professional. Mark was a talented veterinarian who taught me so much and never gave up on any of our animals, no matter how challenging the problems were. He truly was unique in his dogged determination to solve a problem! And Mandy, you were there by his side from the beginning and have also been someone we rely on and care about. We are thinking of you, Jack, and the family and hope you find comfort in the days ahead.

Doc was my friend, my boss, and mentor. I worked for him for years and he showed me what working really was. After a long day of patients and appointments that he would never turn away even after hours, we would talk about life and our problems. This is when I got to truly know Doc. Those conversations we had were so impactful on me and helped me in more ways than he would ever know. Truly loved and respected him.

I have known Mark since our fraternity days at Auburn. He was a dedicated Vet, friend and loved his family. He will be missed by so many that he touched during his life. Thoughts and prayers to Mandy and family!

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your unspeakable loss. Dr. Kidd was such an amazing person and veterinarian. For fourteen years, he took wonderful care of my dog. He saw her through 2 snake bites and other doggy needs. When she no longer had quality of life, he came to my home to end her suffering. Such a kind thing for him to do. He will be missed.

We are saddened by the loss of Mark. Mandy and Jack you are in our prayers as well as the rest of the Extended families. We are so grateful for all the years of love, care and friendship.

I worked alongside Mark and learned from him for 14 years. He was my friend and mentor . He helped me achieve my dreams as a vet and practice owner. I am eternally grateful to him and will never forget what he did for me. In many ways he made me the vet I am today . Mandy, I am eternally grateful for your friendship throughout the years as well, and I send you and Jack my deepest heartfelt sympathy.

Mandy, we were shocked to learn that Mark had passed away. It has been a long time since we have seen him but we always considered him “our friend”. He was a great vet and a good man. May you and Jack and his family find peace.

My time working under Dr. Kidd showed me what a determined and charismatic man he could be. He loved animals, he loved caring for them, he loved medicine! He was a great man who loved his son. He loved his wife. He loved his animals. My thoughts are with the entirety of his family during these times..I can think of so many dreary days at work where he'd bring big smiles to our faces, stay after work later having conversations and making us laugh, and he'd truly go out of his way for his patients and sometimes service them from home on his off days. It's a great loss, but a much greater man.

What a truly great guy. Doc was my former boss and a good friend.
I've never met a guy that treated his clients with the attentiveness and passion that DOC did.
I'm going to miss so many things about DOC. The friendship, the phone calls, the stories, the laughter.
My kids were hearing "DOC STORIES" at an early age. Just an awesome guy with so much to give.
So many of us loved DOC and what he added to our lives.

Mark was a wonderful vet and a kind and caring person. He will be greatly missed by my family and I. Our hearts go out to Mandy, Jack and his entire family. I have no doubt he was greeted in heaven by masses of grateful animals!

His time here in Montana was such a special time. We became fast friends and remained so with many many fantastic conversations over the years. What a guy! I am going to miss him so much.

Dr. Kidd was my Wonderful Vet, for many, many years ! He took care of my "Feisty" little Dog, Rascal ! His son, Jack, was only a Toddler, when we moved from Mobile, to Vestavia. His wife, Mandy, was a special person, too.

Dr. Kidd truly found his calling in the career he chose and was a wonderful listener and a compassionate man. I was saddened to see that he had passed away and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family! Rest well faithful servant.

Both my parents are gone now but they were taking critters to Mark even before he officially open the Rocky Ridge clinic. At 16 I would help Mark haul off brush and rocks from the back of the property. I may have technically been his first employee. I also remember when Jack was little how he would hug my Rottweiler's neck and call her Carl, like in the Children's book. Mark was loved by the entire Rousseau family, both two and four legged. We are praying that God sends his angels to comfort and help ease y'alls pain.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

What a terrific guy. Ranked at the top in his profession and as a close friend. I will always cherish the friendship we built over the last 33 years. My friend, you left us too soon but the memories will be everlasting .I will miss our conversations and most of all the laughter. I share in the absolute sorrow in Mark's death. He was our vet for years and always laughed with my husband as to how we found him. We had a dog in gastric distress and were on our way to the emergency vet downtown one evening and saw Mark's lights on (this was right after he opened his practice). We knocked and he let us in. During his exam he asked about the dog's diet and my husband mentioned sharing his Cajun sausage with the dog. Mark never missed a beat and kindly mentioned it was not a good idea and that it had probably caused the issue (it had). Every time we saw him we would laugh about that. He saw us through many dogs and their deaths and mourned with us (even to sending flowers afterward) and was so incredibly kind as we worked through the time before euthanasia and when it was time to say goodbye. A more sensitive and thoughtful and patient vet we will never see. He was the epitome of what a vet should be. Our hearts go out to his family - they shared Mark with all the pet owners whose pets he cared for over and over during his years as a vet. There is a special place in heaven for you, Mark. Thank you!!

Although I never met Mark personally, We send our condolences. Mark was very good to his surrounding community as a whole. Not only did he take care of our fur babies, but anytime we called upon him for donations to help the local schools with fundraising, he never hesitated to give a helping hand. His generosity and kind heart will always be remembered by the Oak Mountain School system PTO and the extended families of the area. We pray for comfort in his extended fsmilie’s time of need.

Dr. Kidd and his staff have taken amazing care of multiple cats and dogs for me and my family for well over 20 years. He had a truly special way about him. He lovingly cared for each pet and listened to all concerns with sincere compassion . My heart is broken . I am sad. He will be missed.

Years ago, my mother absolutely adored working for Dr. Kidd. She always was so caring to those around him. I am sorry for your loss.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Mark’s passing. He was our vet for a very very long time. He cared for all of our pups with tender loving care. We had 2 pups that would actually get out of our yard and go through the woods and end up at Kidd Animal Clinic and open the door and go in. They loved it there. Mark met us one time in the middle of the night to help save my dad’s dog that had been attack by several other others and he did save his life. He was so caring, listened to everything you had to say and took so much time with you no matter what. Our daughter worked for him and learned so much, he was so kind to her and she had so much respect for him. He was one of the best and greatest vets we have ever known. Mark was an incredible gentleman who cared for our dogs over the 30 years we have lived in Birmingham. He would spend considerable time getting to know the family and their pets. At every visit, he was genuinely interested in catching up with what you were doing. As a physician, I was always impressed by his superb caring manner that exceeded the quality of care of any physician I have known. At one point, we had not been into Double Oak for considerable time. He was so happy to see us as he thought we might have changed vets. He was relieved that we had not left his practice. He handled every aspect of pet care beautifully from acute injuries to putting old, failing dogs to sleep. Mark loved what he was doing and we loved him and the care he provided. He will be sorely missed.

Dr. Kidd was an absolute joy to be around and his love for animals and people was apparent. He will be remembered for his kindness and compassion for every living thing. Our prayers and deepest condolences to his family.

Mark was our family vet from 1989 until our dog died in 2001. Mark is everything others have said about him and more. I found him to be so attentive, always giving good advise, and above all, honest. You could always depend on Mark. We got a rescue dog in 2019 and I knew Mark was going to be our vet again. When he greeted me you would have never known that we hadn't seen each other for over 15 years. I will deeply miss Mark and his sweet smile and laugh. My heart breaks for Mandy and Jack. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless.

Dr. Kidd has cared for our pets for over ten years. He was always gentle and kind and went out of his way to help us. He truly was a great listener and my husband enjoyed talking with him about his days at Auburn with Tim’s cousin Sammy.

He was a great Doctor. If I took my dog to him, I was confident that he would know what the problem was and treat appropriately. In other words, I felt very safe with him. That is rare! I moved away sometime ago but will always remember him. Love sent to the family at this time from Yogi and me

He has been our family Veternarian for over 25 years. He has been with us through the deaths of two of our dogs. He was patient , smart , caring , nurturing and honest. Dr. Kidd was my first real boss. I went to work for him during an extremely difficult time in my life. He was so gracious and kind to everyone who entered the door, be it an employee, client, or fur person. The friendships I made while working for him have continued with me throughout my life over the last 25 years. He was a good man, an incredible doctor, and he will be missed. I pray God will wrap his family, friends, employees, and clients in his arms and bring them peace. He truly touched many lives, my own included.

My husband and I have trusted Dr Kidd with the care of all our furry babies for 28 years. I recently saw him in the office and we reminisced about our past pets and caught up on our children. Many memories and funny stories from over the years and I will treasure them all. He was a kind and wonderful Doctor who always had time to talk. He will be greatly missed. My prayers are with his wife Mandy and his son Jack.

The time that I spent working for Dr.Kidd is truly some of the happiest memories of my life. I’m deeply saddened by this loss and am sending thoughts and prayers to the family.
