John was a wonderful father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed. John arrived in Tuscaloosa on a train from New York City in the fall of 1948 to attend the University of Alabama and never went back. He was a devout fan of the Crimson Tide and never missed a game. Upon graduation from the University of Alabama with an Engineering degree, John proudly served in the United States Naval Construction Battalion, better known as the Seabees. As a Mason, John was a member of the Chelsea Masonic Lodge and a former member of Zamora Temple. After moving to Shelby County in 1989, he became a dedicated member of Liberty Baptist Church where he often helped make the biscuits and the tea for Wednesday night suppers at the church. John became known as the "Blueberry Man" by many in the community who received his annual gift of his homegrown blueberries. John is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years: Martha Nell Jacobs Bosshart. He is survived by his daughter: Martie Duncan; three sons: John Bosshart (Jennifer), Jeff Bosshart (Robin), and Bret Bosshart (Rene'); and eight grandchildren: John, Michelle, Ava, Jacob, Kaitlin, Sarah, Braxton, and Ryan. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Liberty Baptist Church or the Alabama Baptist Children's Home are appreciated. Please sign online condolences at www.boltonfuneralhome.com.
