William (Bill) A. Johnson Resident of Springville Alabama passed away January 2, 2019 at 91 years of age. Born in Birmingham Alabama to George and Sarah Johnson. Bill was a self-employed paint contractor for years. He loved hunting, fishing, his cows and spending time with family and friends. He never met a stranger and was a member of Springville Church of Christ. He was our family's plumb line he made sure everyone knew the right path to take. He made sure we had a firm foundation in Christ and that we stacked them straight. He might have bruised a few egos along the way but it was always because he cared. He will be sadly missed by wife Janice (Ziggy) Johnson, children Patti (Chuck) Glover, Janet Johnson, Jill (Harold) McElroy, Allen Johnson, Kirby Blow, Pam (William) Beeson. Grandchildren Heidi (Timothy) Clark, Matthew (Kayce) Glover, Amber (Audrey) and Melody McElroy, Timothy (Lucy) Glover, Joni Poore, Alex (Katelin) Glover, Amethyst Blow, William, Nicholas, & Ashley Beeson, and 17 great grandchildren. His grandchildren would tell you he taught them so much about life and valuing the simple things our spoiled generation takes for granted after all he was 91 and grew up in the Great Depression. He always taught that you will make mistakes just fix them when you do, never say can't because you can do anything, and waste not want not every meal.He was predeceased by parents George and Sarah Johnson, brothers James, Graves, and Catherine. The burial was Monday, January 7th, Two-Thousand and Nineteen, at Jefferson Memorial and Gardens with military honors. He will be forever missed by all that knew him. Many rejoice and find comfort in the life he led for Christ for a reward in salvation eternally.

Have known Bill since the early seventies when I worked for Sherwin Wiliams in Roebuck. He was one of our contract customers. Always a good guy and helped a young guy that didn't really know anything about paint then. I know he will be missed by the family and my prayers will go to the family during this time.
