SELFRIDGE, JR., George Age 85, of Salem, NH, died peacefully Saturday at his Home. George was born in Cambridge, MA to the late George and Helen (Galvin) Selfridge. He grew up and was educated in Cambridge and graduated from Grand Ridge Tech and later Southern NH University. He was a resident of Salem, NH for over 50 years. George was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of the VFW in Cambridge, MA, the American Legion in Burlington, MA, and the Lawrence Elks lodge. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and yard work. Most of all George loved being with his family. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maura (Mulloy) Selfridge, and his sister, Ann Myrick. He is survived by his children, George Selfridge III of Deering, NH, James and his wife Stacie Selfridge of No. Andover, MA, and Kerry and her husband Paul Pixos of Salem, NH; grandchildren, Ashley and her husband Matt Starr, Brynn Selfridge, and Georgia Pixos; great-granddaughter, Luna Starr; nephew, Gary Myriick and his children, Chris and Anne of Somerville, MA; and special friend, who gave great support to the family, Nancy Dogil of Salem, NH. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Thursday, Feb. 25th from 4-7 PM at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, WINDHAM, NH. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 26th at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph's Church, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem. I knew Georg only a short time from the golf group. I very quickly grew to like and respect him.
