John was an exciting and adventuresome person to encounter.
It was a blessing knowing him, always the person with a friendly attitude
wonderful smile and joke you just had to enjoy. Your teasing playful encounters were an education in the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital. You were missed when you retired and you will truly be missed now. The good memories, funny quips, and one-liners will always be your legacy. You worked hard and it showed. Rest in Peace John D. Hynes, and I hope the God lord leaves off the jewelry!!! God Speed

I had the pleasure to work with John at the Shattuck Hospital for close to 20 years of his 30+ career. He was dedicated to the hospital and to his job. He worked tirelessly every day, helping co-workers when needed and responding to emergency situations. He very rarely if ever called in sick and even walked to work in the April Fool's blizzard of 1996. He would stop in to visit every now and then after retirement to enjoy conversation and of course a coffee. RIP my friend
