I sat next to Phil and worked closely with him throughout my years at Vertica. He was very patient, helpful, and always up for a conversation. He was a big red sox fan, and spoke lovingly of his family. I'm saddened by his passing, and I'm very sorry for you loss.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear loved one, Phillip. When someone we love falls asleep in death, our memories become a treasure. May those memories and the promise we have at John 6:40 provide a measure of comfort during this most difficult time. My sincerest condolences. - Leslie

Phil and I worked together at Vertica. I considered Phil a good friend. I wish Catherine and Natalie, and his entire family, peace and comfort. He spoke often of his family, and his pride in your endeavors Natalie. Phil and I were among the first people to arrive in our Cambridge office. We were often there by around 6:15, and shared beautiful sunrises over the city. A few years back, Vertica took us for bowling and pizza one evening. I took a few photos that night and have included one of Phil.
