Joe, Chrissy, John and Tom - just wanted to send a note to say what a wonderful man your dad was and my memories of him will always bring a smile. He was so warm, kind and had a twinkle in his eye like a true Irishman. I know he was beyond proud of the services held for him...
Wishing you all much love in the days ahead.

To the Burke Family:
It is with a sad hart that I read ofBernie's recent death.
I wasa teammate of his at BC- the hockey team of '46 & '47.
We shared many great memorieds together with the Songin's and the Ceglarski's over the years at BC. A wonderful dad, a devoted veteran, and a truly wonderful gentleman. He will be dearly missed but not forgotten.
Our prayers and thoughts are with your family. I shall always a remember my great teammate in my daily masses.
May our Lord welcome him home!!

Bernie,
You will be truly missed. My family will always be grateful for your kindness when you ran your drug store. I also enjoyed teasing you with our rivalry between Boston College and Northeastern University. Rest In Peace,

I met Bernie going to BC hockey games with my Uncle James Edgeworth. Bernie was always so gracious. He truly cared about people and it showed. I will never forget him. It was an honor getting to know him. My deepest sympathies.

Bernie was the epitome of the neighborhood merchant that made the pre turnpike Newton corner such a great place to be a kid. You could always get an extra pump of vanilla in your coke if he was working the soda fountain or a bit more ice cream in your frappe. A good man and a good guy all around.

To the family of Bernie Burke, please accept our most heartfelt sympathy. Bernie was a wonderful person who always had a twinkle in his eye. We remember his love for Boston College and his great accomplishments. He is truly a loyal son of Boston College. We can still see Bernie and Snooks Kelley on the ice at McHugh.
