I have many memories of Scotty and almost all of them bring a smile to my face. One of the earliest was when we were students at Mirror Lake Junior High in St. Pete. It was lunchtime and Scotty, who had been seated before me, was sitting there laughing like a hyena. Naturally, I headed that way to find out what was so funny. Turns out that he had just heard two of the elephant jokes that were making the rounds. (What did Tarzan say when he saw the elephants coming? "Here come the elephants." What did Tarzan say when he saw the elephants coming with sunglasses on? Nothing because he didn't recognize them with the sunglasses.) This was the kind of goofy humor that only a kid could love, but I started laughing right along with Scotty -- partly because of the stupid joke, but partly because his laugh was so infectious. And in the time that I knew him, that never changed.

Scott’s multifaceted intellect, humor and warmth were a joy to all who knew him. My husband David and I had a wonderful time with Scott and Vivian at the Pier Hotel in St. Petersburg during one of the reunions. My condolences and love go out to Vivian and Scott’s family.

Having been a classmate of Scott's from our days at Mirror Lake Jr Hi and then at St Pete High I knew Scott to be incredibly bright, always the perfect gentleman along with a wonderfully dry sense of humor. It was with great sadness to hear of his passing. My heart goes out to you, Vivian, and the rest of his family and friends. A truly person of goodness gone too soon.

I worked with Scott back in the day at TI in Austin. What a terrific guy. His humor and gentle spirit was a gift to all who knew him. It was pure joy to know Scott.

He was a very interesting man. He was a great softball team mate and had the sweetest swing in the league. I will miss the conversations we would have. Scotty was one of a kind! He will be missed.

Vivian we keep you in our prayers. God Bless you in this difficult time!

I met Scott at TI just out of college. He opened my eyes to a great big world to explore and enjoy. Birds - I still have a Peterson's Field Guide to the Birds he gave me. He taught me so much. He told me he would sit on his Dad's lap as a child and they would read the encyclopedia together. He was a loving and remarkable man and I am grateful to have known him. My heart goes out to Vivian and Joycene and the rest of his family and friends.

I remember Scott from High School. He was a fine man. I had the pleasure of meeting his wife, Vivian at a high school reunion several years ago. She is a delight and I was struck by their obvious devotion to each other. Peace and love to you Vivian.

Scotty was truly loved and will be missed by all that knew him. Scotty was always there. Whether it was at a Drew's softball game, one of our many activities or when anyone needed assistance. A quiet soft-spoken man, with a crazy sense of humor. I will forever remember him in his blue sweat pants and sweat shirt. He really was, Papa Smurf.

There is a sadness around as we grieve for a wonderful man. Grief is not bad, but is the price we pay for those who we love but have departed. If there is grief then there was love and always will be. We hold a special place in our hearts for Uncle Scottie.
