Beverly Tweedale Obituary

Beverly Tweedale, 80, passed away Friday, July 18 at Emeritus Springmeadows in Bozeman.

She was born in St. Paul, Minn. on Nov. 1, 1933 to George and Christine Crawley.

Beverly's professional career included administrative assistant positions with the Flagtown Flyer community newspaper, Central Lutheran K-8 Elementary School, TPTZ TV (PBS network) and the Minnesota Department of Transportation in Roseville and St. Paul, Minn.

Beverly moved to Montana and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as the postmistress at Big Sky, Mont. Thus, began many special Montana friendships among those being lifelong friends, Karen Lorenz (Galen) of Spokane, Wash. and Kenneth Holdeman of Debary, Fla.

Upon retirement, Beverly and her husband, Jack Tweedale, moved to Bozeman and both became involved in various community organizations. Beverly was recognized for her work and dedication as the secretary for the Southeast Neighborhood Association through which she became an admired and loved "special lady" to her Westridge neighborhood family.

Beverly was a life-long active member of her Lutheran faith being a young den mother of Cub Scout Pack 243 of Jehovah Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minn. and until her death, hosting a weekly Woman's Bible Study of Bozeman's First Lutheran Church.

Beverly will be fondly remembered for her love of impromptu picnics complete with a ready-packed picnic basket, her "daughter dog," Penny, raspberries, root beer floats, lobster and her spirited look on life. Even in the face of adversity, especially as she dealt with serious health issues, she was not one to complain and kept her sense of humor and quick wit.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Tweedale and is survived by her son, John Fox (Rosalie) of Shoreview, Minn.; step-sons, Clifford Tweedale, (Joan) and Justin, of Park Rapids, Minn.; Craig Tweedale, (Lou) and Chris of Onalaska, Wis.; Jon Tweedale, (Marcy) Andy and Alicia of Rochester, Wash.; her life-long best friend, Darlene Murray and her husband, Ron of Roseville, Minn.; nieces, Diane Welsh of Sacramento, Calif. and Patti Myers of Petaluma, Calif. Beverly was a participant in the Befrienders's Program and is survived by her former befriender and special friend, Sheree Hart (Chuck) of Severance, Colo. and Judy Higgins, who was Beverly's current befriender. Beverly's family, many friends, and especially her Westridge neighbors will treasure the special times shared with her and will appreciate the influence she had in all of our lives.

A special thank you to the staffs at Springmeadows and Bozeman Deaconess Hospice and Pastor Sam Grayl of First Lutheran Church for your care and comfort of Beverly.

Cremation has taken place and in honor of Beverly's wishes, no public service will be held.

We celebrate her life, remember her love and bid her a tender farewell. Memorial donations may be given to the Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 19930, Bozeman, MT 59719 or to the charity of your choice.
