Dear Mary and Alex,

I am so sad to hear of Dr. Caltenco's passing on. He was always so kind to my son and myself. I would have never made it through the post surgical mistake of another Ob-Gyn physician had it not been for the dedication of time, knowledge & effort. Of Dr. C. He SAVED MY LIFE. THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME. He did not have to , he just stepped in and did it. For months, he came to my home twice daily to scrub a very deep , open surgical wound so that it would heal without infection that could be fatal in a open deep wound such as that was. He brought me a ball to either put in my mouth to not scream it to just clinch in my hand. He thought of everything and came with a compassionate smile on his kind face. He did this for months - until about three weeks left and turned it over to home health- that is when then I did get an infection that then took months then to finish healing. He is technique was awesome , his kindness and dedication to medicine and healing others was immeasurable . He was one in a million, and I am thankful to have known him and then to have met his lovely family. I know the joy for him in reuniting with his young son who died way, way too early in his life now. For that reason only, I can see some goodness in those two being reunited in heaven. I wish for peace and comfort for his wife and remaining son and any other family . He was a very good man to us and we remain deeply grateful for the kindness, compassion, and effort , and time bestowed upon me.

Mary, I never met you, but your husband was truly a GREAT man. I was his VERY FIRST patient when he moved to Manatee County, way back in 1985. I needed a hysterectomy, and he and I did not agree on the subject. I wanted a second child, but he convinced me to have the surgery, IF I wanted to be around to see my son grow up. He always introduced me to his staff as his first patient in Manatee County. He was a VERY trusted doctor and he genuinely cared for ALL f his patients. He will be sorely missed by so many people.
