On behalf of the Bradenton-Sarasota Rose Society we extend our deepest sympathy to the Whisenant family. Mr. Whisenant will always be remembered as a person who loved growing roses and encouraging others to grow them too.

Linda and I extend our sympathy to the Whisenant family in this time of sadness. We enjoyed viewing the photo gallery--especially the large jew fish and snook--what memories! We were friends with Howard and Joyce McCook and family in Mulberry. Ray worked with Howard at the railroad. Blake was a special man.

It has been my pleasure to know the Whisenant family for several years and the warmth and genuine kindness they extend to others.
May the Good Lord give you peace during this sad time and know our prayers are with you. He will be missed by all who knew him.

It has been such a pleasure to have the Whisenant family as our neighbors in Parrish. Blake was always such a kind and thoughtful person who cared deeply about our community. He will certainly be missed. We are sorry for your loss.

Although I have known various Whisenant family members over my lifetime, my first encounters were as a small child, with Mr. Whisenant. He was a great friend of my grandfather, Wade Oxford, Sr. Throughout my life, he was one of the "yardsticks" by which I measured other people and their behavior. He was a monumental person, just amazing, in his faith, humility, courage, generosity.... I never saw him in too much of a hurry to ask how my family and I were doing. He was truly interested and concerned about us all, generations of us! I know he goes to a better place, now, to be reunited with his lovely wife. My heart goes out to those he leaves behind.

I'm so sorry to hear of Blake's passing. I have so many wonderful memories working on EarthBox with him. He was a wonderful mentor and teacher.

I'm so sorry for your loss. May your memories bring you comfort and may God surround you with peace and strength.
Sincerely,
