I just found out ....I am very saddened, she and James were wonderful to my brother David Pedigo - the picture I post now is her hugging him for the last time before David passed in Feb. 2013. She would cook him meals and keep him smiling. James and Denise were a God send to me, they were so wonderful to my 100% disabled Vietnam Veteran brother that lived a couple houses down from them. They will all remain dear to me in life, memories and in the future. Jennis Kay Pedigo Harvill

Thank you all who have left us messages. You have all helped us remember memories of her joyousness. Each one has helped alleviate a small bit of my pain.

Denise was my first real middle school crush, and we talked late at night in the phone for hours. I remember a Duran Duran song coming on the radio, and she said, "Did you know this song is about me? 'Her name is Rios...and she dances on the sand'..." I still think about her when I hear that song. Her eyes would squint, almost sleepy eyes when she flashed that beautiful Farrah Fawcett smile of hers. Rest In Peace, girl. You'll be missed, but never forgotten.

I am truly saddened by the passing of my buddy, my friend. Such a shock. Denise was a breath of fresh air, very positive, and always wanting to absorb the intellectual minds of others. We used to sit and discuss Emerson's philosophies, the government, etc. One afternoon, we took my 1952 MGTB antique convertible on a cold front type afternoon and decided that we should go to the good sheperd and buy long coats and hats. She got the red one and I got the black one. Everyone waived at us with smiles and we were just haveing a blast then went to have appetizers at Water Street Oyster Bar. We felt like we were in the Great Gatsby movie. What fun she was and it was so important that she finish her degree which she had started and yes she finished taking care of her daughter Chloe. We were all roomates, all 7 of us...half of which were going to college and they accomplished what was in their heart. To have that dignity that one carries the rest of their life. She was so proud of that. My condolenses to the Rios Family, to James her husband, to Mr. Rios her father who she admired so much, to Chloe her daughter who grew up to be most successful in New York, to Pricilla, Sandra Capello, to Adam, her brother and sisters. My grandmother was a Rios but, we never did find out if we were related. It didn't seem to matter. You are in Heaven in the lap of our Savior. May you rest in Peace.....my friend.
