Janie L. Salazar, 70, of Corpus Christi, Texas, died peacefully in her sleep at home, after a short illness on December 20, 2016. Born January 8, 1946, in Brownsville, Texas, she is preceded in death by her mother, Petra L. Herrera, brothers, Librado Garza Jr., Guadalupe Lopez, and Edward Almeida.
Janie is survived by her one and only daughter, Cindy (Roy C.) Ferdin, of Corpus Christi, Texas, grandchildren, Roy and Valerie Ferdin of Corpus Christi, brothers, Jesse Lopez, Joe Almeida-Harrison, and sisters, Mary Pierce, Rose Simmons, and Yolanda Pena.
Janie worked at AMF Bowling Lanes for 25 years. She enjoyed being with her family and dog Sandy.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, December 23, 2016, at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche, Corpus Christi, TX.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Legacy Hospice for their support in her final days. A special thank you to Chrissy Amaro for caring for our mother/grandmother.
