Kay Segura Johnson

Rockport - Kay, a long time resident of Rockport, passed away on March 27, 2021. She graduated from A&I Kingsville and followed up by earning two Masters degrees. She taught school, mostly in Aransas County for 29 years. She took a break during that time and started her own food processing business, "Kay's Hot Stuff". She received an award for her products from the International Culinary Institute of New York City. She went on to join the travel department of a local bank and as an agent with Key Allegro Real Estate.

She had a great business career but, she is remembered more for her love of life and her friends with whom she enjoyed that life. She was a breath of fresh air, always smiling and laughing.

Kay is survived by her loving husband, Mike; her sister, Olga; several step children; a multitude of nieces and nephews and last but not least her puppies, Rosie and Zebbi.

Acknowledgments should be made to her favorite charity, The Sacred Heart School, 111 N. Church St., Rockport, Texas 78382.

There will not be a service, but we welcome you to the Celebration of Life as follows:

A friend with whom lifetime bonds were forged during college and young adult days, Kay was always a joy to run into, even after the years had taken us in different directions. It is sad to realize that it will not happen again. Prayers for those she left behind.
