Frances Julia Wostal

Frances Julia Lehmann Wostal, 90, of Lake City, Texas, passed away December 20, 2017. She was born on January 28, 1927 south of Seguin in Guadalupe County to Valentin and Margaret (Meyer) Lehmann. She grew up on the family farm north of Geronamo, Texas where she attended Weiner School and finally Seguin High School. While working at Joskey's Department Store in San Antonio, she met a serviceman Frederick Anton Wostal and they were married on October 18, 1945. They moved to Orange Grove and their son, James, was born. In January 1946 she became a Catholic where she was active in the church with her husband, Fred. In January 1947 they moved to Sandia and opened Wostal Inn. They owned and operated Wostal Inn for 16 years. In August 1962 they moved to their lake front property, which is now Lake City, where Frances still lived today. During that time they did commercial fishing and custom crop harvesting. After Fred died in October 1984, Frances became very active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3079. She served 2 years as president and then went on to hold other offices. During this time she joined the Senior Friends Group and Lake City Ladies Club also. She enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing, her many pets, spending time with her family, and her long retirement. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Valentin and Margaret (Meyer) Lehmann and her husband, Frederick Anton Wostal.

She is survived by her Son: James and his wife, Janice Wostal. Two Granddaughters: Jessica and Jesse Vega and Jonie and Matthew Lawson. Seven Great-Grandchildren: Randi Morgan, Kelsey Hale, Kristen Hale, Justine Vega, Jennifer Vega, Jason Vega, and Kyle Lawson.
