Jeffery Lynn Crews, age 58 of Boerne, Texas, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at home with his friends and family. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl Crews, a devoted father and grandfather, and friend to many.
Jeff was born in Falfurrius, Texas, on June 21, 1958, and grew up in Premont, Texas. He worked at Calallen High School for over 30 years as a coach and teacher. He finished his career of coaching at Geneva School of Boerne. Coach was an amazing man whose love for Jesus shined. He loved spending time with his wife and grandchildren. His passions were running, kayaking, shooting his bow and mentoring young students. He loved coaching basketball and cross country and inspired many. Coach was actively involved in his church and community. He was often found reading his Bible or worshiping the Lord. Coach's legacy will live on through the lives he touched.
Jeff was proceeded in death by his parents, George (Pete) and Margaret Screws.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, two daughters, Michelle (Ryan) Mankoff of New Braunfels, Texas, and Stephanie (Shane) Menn of Boerne, Texas, five sisters: Cathy Shows of Waxahachie, Texas, Patsy (Dick) Wuensche of Huntsville, Texas, Becky Shigekawa of Spring Lake, North Carolina, Mary Ellen (Russell) Marks of Crystal Beach, Texas, Frances (Ken) Kuhn of Kingsville, Texas; and two brothers, George (Brenda) Crews of Marble Falls, Texas, and Davis Crews of Stephensville, Texas. He was also "Coach" to his cherished grandchildren; Makenna, Emma and Crew Mankoff, and Cannon, Hartlee, Sutherlin and Valor Menn.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at Currey Creek Baptist Church, 35 Cascade Caverns Road, Boerne, Texas.
