Rose Marie Alvarez, 63, went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2018. She was a life long resident of Corpus Christi, TX, having been born there on June 22, 1954. Prior to retirement she worked as a secretary for Corpus Christi Independent School District. Rose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Alvarez, and her parents, Julia Dinn Cervantes, Ramona Alvarado, and Fermin Alvarado.
She is survived by her children, Rose Ann (Benjamin S.) Kanten and Leo De Leon, grandchildren, Bella R. Kanten and Benjamin N. Kanten, siblings, Mary Helen (Mike) Reyes, Teresa Duran, Sylvia (Adrian) Zalazar, Mike Dinn, Florinda Dinn, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
Service will be at 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Guardian Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 access Rd.
