I remember the first time meeting Gary and being introduced by Rachelle as "Dad, this is Spaz" and this big smile came across his face and he shook my hand and with his huge smile said "Hiiiiiii Spaz!!!". It was a friendly and warm greeting that I would receive every single time he saw me over the years! Unbeknownst to him it made me feel safe growing up in what was a pretty rough part of my life.
The years and memories of always being welcomed to Sally and Gary's home, regardless of time or need, being respected by both was something that has stuck with me for my entire life.
I distinctly remember over the years the way Gary would look at Sally, the way they would interact, the way Gary would love being Sally's husband, the way he adores Rach and Baby Pong, the way he absolutely just loves being their dad. I remember personally the way I looked up to Gary and seeing how he was a father and husband and thinking "That's it, that's how it's done".
Thankyou for guiding without even knowing you were.
Rest In Peace big guy,
Sebastian "Spaz" Boehm.

Dear Sal and Family,

We were very sorry to hear about our dear colleague and friend Gary. He was one of the first people I met when I moved to Australia in 1992 to work for Optus. We travelled widely for several months leasing properties for Optus during that year and beyond, and I enjoyed his company immensely. He always spoke lovingly of Sal, the girls, the husbands and grandkids. He was quite a character to say the least! But he worked hard, played hard, had a good heart and a great mind. I am so happy I had the pleasure to work with Gary, and we are all feeling a loss without our true larrikin.

Vale Gary, you left us plenty of great memories!

Dear Sally, Rachelle, and Michelle,

How lucky I was to spend my teenage years in your house with all the love and laughter that Gary brought to the us all. He is sorely missed and was greatly loved.

I will forever remember our runs to Kambah shops on a Sunday morning for burgers with AC/DC booming at levels that are not natural for a 90's vehicle.

Much love,
Nat

My condolences to Sally & family.

At Optus Vision, in the mid 1990s, Gary was our property consultant & our trusted advisor.
Gary was always cheerful and optimistic in his outlook.
I remember fondly, all of the good times we spent as a property team identifying suitable properties for Optus Vision.

Rest In Peace Gary.
