I had the honour of working with Richard at forestry. Sadly missed.

I haven't forgotten Richard. My thoughts, and those of Robyn, Sarah, and Julia, go out to Sonia, Emma and Julia today.

In our thoughts on the Anniversary of a very sad day.
Tuesday, 10 May 2016
Richard was a tower of strength in whichever of the several capacities he served the forest industries - calm, dispassionate, thoughtful and resolute, with a wry sense of humour that never failed him. He will be sorely missed by the industry, his many friends and colleagues, and most of all, by his family. Belatedly, I offer my sincere condolences to his family, and my assurances that the very high regard in which I held Richard as a colleague and friend, remain un-dimmed.

My deepest condolences to the Stanton and McClellend families on your loss of Richard. I remember many years ago meeting a lovely young man with a wonderful future ahead of him. I am deeply saddened to hear of his sudden loss. Dearest Sonia, you and your daughters are in my prayers. May God's love and peace surround you and give you comfort and may your memories be sweet.

I am so sorry to hear of this tragic event. It appears random and impossible. Richard was a great fellow and friend. I can't believe he has gone. I will never forget him. To Sonia and girls I offer the deepest sympathy. It is not fair.

Heartfelt synpathy to you Sonia, Emma and Julia and all families.
We are thinking of you and saying a prayer that God will be with you everywhere.

Richard was a friend and recent work colleague during the years I was involved in the forestry sector. He was the most insightful and helpful person I worked with in the forestry arena, with an amazing ability to cut to the chase on complex issues, quickly finding the smartest way to progress things.

As a felow cyclist, I greatly enjoyed our banter over the minutiae of all things cycling and endurance sports, even when he'd describe my pride and joy triathlon bike as a 'girls bike'.

They were good times mate, and you will always be remembered. Ride the eternal tailwind now.

Richard was taken far too soon. I'm so sorry for all his family. It just isn't fair that you must now do without him.
