Billy Ray Cole, Sr., age 78 of Sykesville, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at his home. Born December 3, 1942 in Beckley, WV, he was one of 7 children born to the late Bill Frank Spence and the late Mary Beatrice Spence. He was the husband of the late Catherine JoAnn Cole to whom he was married to for over 54 years. Billy was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a professional truck driver for many years and drove a daycare van for his family's business Deb's Place for many years. He enjoyed lottery scratch offs, fishing, and taking care of the birds. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Surviving are sons and daughter-in-law Billy Ray Cole, Jr., and Mark and Sandy Cole, daughters and their spouses Deborah Cole and Brenda, and Diane Smith and Russell, grandchildren Jacob Cole, Austin Cole and his wife Kathryn, Adam Cole and his wife Emily, Aaron Cole, Zachary Smith, Ryan Smith, Madison Smith, Jace Turfle and Cash Turfle, and great grandchild Carson Cole. Due to the current pandemic, services and interment will be private.
