Bruce Hull Dutterer, 65, of Littlestown, PA passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at his home. Born March 3, 1952 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Frances (Stonesifer) Dutterer of New Oxford, PA and the late Stanley Dutterer. He was the husband of Sheryl (Armacost) Dutterer, to whom he was married for 26 years. Bruce was a Park Planner for Carroll County Recreation and Parks, where he worked for 37 years. He was instrumental in planning and designing parks and trails all throughout Carroll County. He also worked continuously on new projects at his home. He was very creative and articulate about every project he worked on. He was a member of the Littlestown Eagles Aerie and was a former member of the Littlestown Fish and Game Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, and collecting tobacco tins, old signs, and antiques. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals of all kinds, both wild and domestic. As well as being adventurous in designing and building, he enjoyed family activities such as vacationing, hiking, kayaking, and anything else that sparked his interest. Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are daughter, Rachel Dutterer and son, Evan Dutterer, both of Littlestown, PA; brother, Travis Dutterer and wife Karen of Gettysburg, PA; and niece, Pam Medwid and husband Matt of Owings, MD. I had the privilege of getting to know Bruce over the past 5-6 years while working with him. Each and every time we spoke over the phone he had a story to share and make our time enjoyable.

The Dutterer Family,
I was very saddened by the news of Bruce's passing. I have worked at CCG for 28 years and knew Bruce for the majority of that time. He was a very kind and friendly person; always ready to share a joke to get you through the day. He will be deeply missed.

I want to express my deepest sympathies to Bruce's entire family. Bruce was instrumental in creating a safe and happy place for dogs to play at the Bennett Cerf Dog Park. His insights will be sorely missed. There really are no words to express how terrible this news is. May he rest in peace and may his family remember all the good times they had and his wonderful personality and character. RIP Bruce.
