Clyde Leroy Boone, age 88, of Woodbine, died Monday, January 16, 2017 at Carroll Hospice-Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born September 28, 1928 in Louisville, MD the son of the late John Clyde and Catherine Harden Boone. He was the husband of Ella Mae Boone; his wife of 69 years, (Married July 8, 1948). He was a Navy veteran of WW2 serving aboard the USS Amphion. He worked at the Naval Ordinance Laboratory for 32 years and later worked for Fogles Refuse, the Etomolgy Department of the University of Maryland and Rain and Hail Crop Insurance before retiring in 1999. He was Past Master and Past Secretary of Freedom Lodge #112 A.F. & A.M., a charter member of Westminster Elks and Life Member of Mt. Airy American Legion Post 191. He loved rabbit hunting, flounder fishing, fast pitch softball and golf. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law James Leroy and Wanda of Berkeley Springs, W.V., Donald Michael of Bedford, PA., Danny and Deborah of Mt. Airy, MD., Patrick Brian and Gail of Winfield, MD and daughter and son in law Late Virginia Lee (Micky) and the late Larry Cullison. Also surviving are Sister Kay Miller and Brothers Donald, John, James and the late George. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Amy, Kimberly, Melissa, Jonathan, Camilla, Billy, Danny, Christine, Brian, and Amy Lee, numerous great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD., on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 3-8 PM with a Masonic memorial service at 7:30 PM; where Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11 AM. Condolences to the Boone Family. We were sad to here of his passing. Mr. Boone was a wonderful person as well as a great neighbor. He will be missed.
