Linda Lee Schaeffer Yingling, 61, of Manchester, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at Dove House in Westminster.
Born Nov. 1, 1950, in Bachmans Mills, Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Harold "Dutch" and Catherine Staub Schaeffer. She was the wife of Dennis Wayne Yingling, her husband of 40 years.
She was a member of Lazarus United Church of Christ in Lineboro. She was a 1968 graduate of North Carroll High School and and graduate of Carroll Community College.
She was in 4-H as a member and volunteer. She received recognition as a CEOE from the National Association of Office Professionals during her career with the Board of Education of Carroll County, where she was the school secretary at Hampstead, Spring Garden and Manchester elementary schools. She was a member of the Carroll County and the Maryland Retired School Personnel Association, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Historical Society of Carroll County.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening and genealogy.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter and son-in-law Shelley Nicole and Craig Frock; a granddaughter, Emily Nicole Frock; a step-granddaughter, Kirstyn Alexis Frock; siblings and spouses Harold LeRoy and Carole Schaeffer, Robert Franklin Sr. and Bonnie Schaeffer, Helen Louise Haines, and Shirley Elizabeth and George Rill; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Larry Eugene Schaeffer.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester. Private interment will be in John Luther Miller Cemetery in Bachmans Mills.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Lazarus United Church of Christ, 5101 S. Church St., Lineboro MD 21102; or Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
