Wes was a credit union devotee not only with regard to Lithgow Credit Union but also to credit unions at state and federal levels
Over many years Wes attended numerous regional and interstate meetings representing his own Credit Union's board of directors to ensure their opinions were canvassed on a range of NSW and Australia wide issues. His focus was always on improving the financial and social wellbeing of credit union members.
Further afield, as part of the Australian Credit Union's Foundation endeavours in the South Pacific, Wes spent time in the Solomon Islands, using his experience to assist the local people to manage their own financial organisations which were very much in their infancy.
He was also an active member of an ex-credit union executives group which meets regularly in Sydney to enjoy each other's company and reminisce about their working lives in the credit union movement. Incidentally, the group's name, the See You (CU) Laughter group was readily adopted after a suggestion by Wes as it reflected its reason for being so appropriately.
Wes enjoyed discussing movies and radio but was saddened by the direction that radio broadcasting has taken over recent times, relying on audience talk back rather than providing entertaining and educative content which were its original strengths.
He will be sadly missed by all his colleagues who spent many years in his company at both work and social occasions, remembering him as a friendly, outgoing and a very likeable man always aware of his social responsibilities to both his family and the local and broader community.

Wes was a man of passion, curiosity and commitment. He was also selfless, offering advice and positive contributions to assist me when I took on the role of General Manager of Family First Credit Union in June 2013. Vale Wes and thank you for your contribution to the Community

Wes was a man of resolute character and integrity, who displayed an exceptional managerial and leadership flare and exemplary work ethic. Through school, he had a mathematical bent and it was unsurprising that he became the well respected General manager of the Family First Credit Union for 28 years, in which time of unrivalled tenure, he saw the institution's name change twice. He had a penchant for all things cinematic. He was the local " Mr Movies", with an abiding interest in, and an encyclopedic knowledge of,classic Hollywood cinema, the filmmakers and the featured actors. As manager of the Theatre Royal for 8 years and projectionist for 20 years, Wes was in the ideal position to indulge his ardent passion. As fate would have it, this career was the fulfilment of a long-held, boyhood dream. As Station Manager of the Lithgow Community Radio, Wes' commitment and dedication, were outstanding. His selfless service over many years is testimony to his civic-mindedness and community spirit. Wes was a devoted husband, a fun-loving family man and a cherished grandad.VALE Wesley James Anderson

Wes was a great boss and a great bloke. He was good natured, smart and funny. Wes was M.C at my wedding and he did it wonderfully well.He was a man of exemplary character and was well liked by everyone he came into contact with.Wes will be sadly missed.
