Dear Langton Family,

I want to belatedly extend my condolences to you on the loss of your beloved husband and father and, like so many other former students of his, express just how positive an influence JL was in my musical life. Beyond his immense gifts as a musician and teacher, however, he also displayed such genuine concern for his students and their lives, which is something that I personally experienced and will always be grateful for. His was a life well-lived.

My very deepest condolences to the Langton family. Mr. Langton by far, was my favorite teacher (choir, music theory), and he used to play Danny Boy for me on the piano at the Autoport. He left a great impact on my life as he did so many others.
With my deepest sympathy,
Mariesa Davis McCloud (SCAHS class of '76).

My sympathies to the his family; he was a great teacher, avid enthusiast, and supportive friend. He reawakened a love of choral music in me 35+ years ago, and the training, whether that of music or life, he gave all of his students will live on.

Loretta, Jim, Bob, Dave, Mary, Bill, & Judy:
I was very sorry to hear about Jim's (your Dad's) passing. Please accept my sympathies and I hope that you're feeling the love and support of each other and all of the friends and acquaintances that you've gained over the years. I'll remember Jim for the dedication and support of his family and his service to others. In his teaching career and professional life, he truly used his talents to help others. Oh, I'll remember him for his jokes and sense of humor, too. Take care.

My sympathies on Mr. Langton's passing - I am a former student who loved singing in his choruses. And I so appreciated the music theory classes, especially when I got to college to major in music education. We have lost two significant music teachers in the past month and we are saddened, but thankful for their powerful influence in our lives. Thank you for sharing Mr. Langton with us.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the Langton family. I am so sorry for your loss. As a former student at SCAHS I have many fond memories of choral/music experiences that I had under the direction of Mr. Langton, especially A Cappella choir. At the end of each concert we sang "The Lord Bless You and Keep You". May God bless you and keep you and give you peace at this difficult time.

To the Langton Family - Sincere condolences to all of you. What a great man, who impacted the lives of so many! I was fortunate to have been a member of both Acapella and Twentones, as well as many of the musical productions, Class of 69. These experiences were the best of my High School career, and I will be forever grateful to him for providing me these experiences and for his counsel during those years.
I hope that you take comfort in knowing how positively he impacted so manh lives, during his lifetime!

With the help of my brother Jared, I kept up with Mr Langton (always felt strange calling him Jim) over the years. He was such a positive part of my high school experience (class of 1975). A truly caring and affirming teacher and mentor, he is already sorely missed. God bless all his loved ones and many friends.
